Janell Cleveland

Janell Cleveland is the Intellectual Property Manager of Zirus where she is engaged in management of the Zirus patent portfolio, licensing, and competitive intelligence.

Prior to joining Zirus, Janell was a patent agent at an intellectual property law firm where she engaged in all aspects of domestic and foreign patent prosecution pertaining to biotechnology and related areas. Her specialty was in conducting patentability, infringement, and invalidity searches. Prior to that, she spent four years as a U.S. patent examiner, where she gained invaluable experience in not only determining patentability, but crafting patents that withstand the scrutiny of the U.S. Patent Office. Janell received her Bachelor of Science from Brigham Young University in Molecular Biology, and spent several years after that working as a research assistant for the U.S. Navy Biological Defense Research Program. Janell enjoys gardening, cooking, and any activity that involves being outdoors.
